VILLA IN BIG-PRICE TRANSFER MARKET
ONCE MORE
London, Nov. II.
Aston Villa have come into the big-price transfer market again. Yesterday they paid Blackpool £10,500 for Frank O'Don- nell, the Scottish international centre-forward.
The boom period in high-price transfers has been reached earlier than usual this season. Four transactions in recent weeks have cost approximately £34,000.

EXCHANGE deal oFF
ExsUram was nearly concerned in the biggest exchange deal in Succer history.
Mr. Harry Curtis, the Brentford manager, was negotiating for an in- ternational player to take Eastham's phure. That player Was Frank O'Donnell. Terms were arranged between the clubs-Blackpool-were to have Eastham, valued at £6.000, Į and a cheque for £4,500.
Unfortunately for Brentford, As- ion VBln were looking for somebody to stop their slide, and they made an offer of £10,500 for O'Donnell.
Blackpool, who recently turned down Sunderland's £8,000 bid for him. left it to the player to make his choice, and he preferred to go to the Midlands.
Brentford have not given up hopes of getting their man. Mr. Curtis Is, in fact, negotiating with four clubs,' and hopes to make a deal soon.
Stoke may also have a newly signed player in their team. Nego- tations for the transfer of Tennant, the Bolton full-back, were completed yesterday. The fee is sald about £2,000. Tennant was Stoke's books six years ago.
