They were welcomed on arrival by officials of the Hongkong Softball League and by Mr. Vle Hugo, pro- inoler of to-day's matches.
No official programme has been made for entertaining the visitors. but the League has arranged a tim at the Ying King Restaurant,
As this is only the second season In which softball has been played the Colony, the local standard is not really high, but the two teams plcked by local softball authorities are good enough to ensure that the matches will be interesting.
I is a fallacy to belleve, as most people do, that this is "slasy" game. Those who have not yet been convinced that it is not should go down

No man is better qualified than Geary to instruct the rising genera- tion of cricketers. For a good many years he was ono of our best medium-pace bowlers, and as long ogo as 1926 I saw him save the game for England at Leeds, where he and George Macaulay added 100 for the ninth wicket.
George has played in nine Tests against Australia and five against South Africa. His globe-trotting has taken him to Australia, South Africa, India and the West Indies and his greatest bowling perform- ance 'was achieved against Glamor- gan in 1029 at Pontypridd: 10 wickets for 18 runs. Alluding to the Aus tralian captain in an interview with B. J. Evans in the Star, he once said:
"I will give Don Bradman his due as a great batsman, but the grounds- men of England have undoubtedly enhanced his reputation.
