GAS MASKS ROTTING FOR LACK OF CONTAINERS

Of about 40,000,000 gas masks issued at Home during the Crisis, thousands are being damaged and destroyed every day because there are no facilities to store them. A.R.I officera are powerless to do anything.

The Home Office has announced that 5,000,000 cartons Home for holding masks are being made weekly. But a Office A.R.P, official said: “I am unable to tell you how many cartons have been delivered or when the total will have been sent out."

Fewer than 300,000 cartons have been delivered to London boroughs. A.R.I'. officers have been clamouring for the containers. They have been told that the cartons will be sent shortly.
