PROPER RACING WEATHER NOW BEING EXPERIENCED
MOST ANIMALS
GETTING INTO THEIR STRIDE
HONGKONG ST. LEGER IS MAIN EVENT TO-MORROW
(By "Captain Foster")
We are now having proper weather for racing! This was the view expressed at Happy Valley the other morning by a few! prominent owners who claimed that the prospects of their ponies were much brighter than they were at the resumption of the season. Fat, like charity, covers a multitude of faults and the eagerness of trainers to get an animal fit too quickly has been the downfall of many a class pony. Some owners, of course, prefer to go slow until the cool weather sets in and we may now look for ward to seeing a few outsiders coming in to-morrow.
The is set for to-morrow's
long distance classic, the Hongkong SILKYLIGHT
St. Leger confined to China ponies, And there are in addition seven at- tractivo handicap events on the card. First raddling will be rung at the usual time, 1.30 p.m. sharp.
His Excellency the Governor and Lady Nordicote have signified their intention of attending and there is no doubt that the meeting will also be graced by the presence of the the Colony's leading lights
