THE PHOTOGRAPHS on these pages were taken by Ray Scott, intrepid American camera-man who has obtained the best pictorial story of the destruction of Canton.

Mr. Scott is a free-lance photographer who has secured several world "beats" in the East and elsewhere throughout the world. He contributes to "Life" and other well-known American magazines, “Life" has secured American copyright of the photographs published in to-day's "Telegraph."

Mr. Scoll is an expert colour photo- grapher, and most of his work is done In this medium. A New York news. paper published a Full-page repro- duction of his colour photograph of the Fall of Nanking.

On this page are two of the most dramatic photographs from Mr. Scott's collection of the desiruction of Canton.
