Air-Raid Procautions in Central London: Trenches being dug rapidly in Lincoln's Inn Fields by the light of flares.
Among the emergency measures adopted in Britain during during the recent crisis were the precaution- áry calling-up of officers and men of Anti-Aircraft Units and of Coast De- fence Units of the Ter- ritorial Armin; and the fitting and distribution of gas-mastis for civilians. In London and in many other places there was much activity in parks and open spaces where trenches were being dug as refuges,
