Mr. Percy St. Georgo Kirke, father of 28-years-old Mr. Percy Ughtred Kirke, on holiday here with his daughter, mado this comment last month, discussing the fate of 27-years-old Miss Nina Plerson, ex-Follies girl, who has been found dead in the bedroom of a Paris hotel.
Miss Pierson inst April went through n marriage ceremony by candles over the anvil at Greina Green with Mr. Kirke's son.
Mr. Kirke, sen., said his family bud no Interest in the funeral arrange- ments.
"The wedding at Gretna was never registered. I don't think Mias Pler- con intended that it should be," he udded,
"It Was an escapade which ended as soon as it began, and my son regretted it afterwards "He is a high-spirited boy, and did this thing on impulse."
"MARRIED ON IMPULSE"
Miss Kirke here took up the story. "My brother's romance with Misa Pierson was a direct resull of a row she had with Tommy Manville, the wealthy American, whom she hoped to marry," she said.
"When this fell through shd married my brother on Impulse. I think afterward he thought she had let him down.
"In any case my brother had not the manry to keep Miss Pierson in the style she had been used to.
"Her death alone in a Paris hotel is a sad finish.

Misa Lydia Cecily Hill, former West-end cabaret girl, whose reported rornance with the Sultan of Johore been followed recently by rumours of intended marriage, arrived here by the Paris-Rome ex- press.

Miss Hill was accompanied by Mr. W. Braddell and his family, of Lon- don. Mr. Braddell told me he ind been legal adviser to the Sultan of Joliore for many years.
Reports reached here that the Sultan Intends to marry Miss Hill in Genoa, but no confrmation is avali able. The British Consulate in Genon, which, presumably, would be Informed, says it has no knowledge of a wedding.
Miss Hill is staying at the Hotel Columnin with other in her party. It is understood that a reservation has been made at the hotel also for the Sultan.
