BABY BORN IN ESKIMO COLONY

The wife of the Rev. J. H. Webster with her three-months-okt baby- born in a log-cabin la an Eskimo colony of North-West Canada- arrived at Liverpool recently.

The father, who came with them. had to act as midwife at the birth, there not being a doctor or nurse within 100 miles.

Old shepherds whoso whole lives have been lived out on the Doions with their flocks never miss the fair. It is their one chanco of a gossip over old times and prevent newon.

Here are some of them, well known in farming circles on the sweeping Sussex hills.

Above, Tom Gooding, 73 years old, and still herd- ing his sleep.

"Howdy, folks, California, here we are?" excialmed Douglas Corrigan, wrong-way Bler to Ireland, as he and his $900 plane arrived at Long Beach, Cal., whence ho started his flight. Wearing his famous leather Jacket, he is shown here beside a marker commemorating the start of bis flight two months ago. A huge parade welcomed him.
