REPORTS FROM CHINESE and Japanese military sources have become so conflicting that the respective claims place the Kwangtung battle- front nearly thirty milos apart!

The Japanese claim that they are now only 20 miles from Canton, advancing in a south-westerly direction, while the Chinese counter-claim that severe fighting is still progressing in the mountain range cast of Tsengcheng.
