George Brain, 27-yearold van-driver, of St. James's- cottages, Richmond, Surrey, was at the Old Bailey recently found guilty of the murder of Mrs. Rose Muriel Atkins in a lovers' lane at Wimbledon,

Mr. Justice Wrottesley sentenced ; him to death.

When asked if he had any- thing to say before the sentence, he replied "No" in a scarcely audible voice.

He showed no emotion when he heard his fate.
