First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hongkong
SUBJECT-UNREALITY
The subject of the Lesson Sermon in all Christian Science Churches, to- morrow, October 2, WIH be "Unreality,"
The Golden Text will be "Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompense" (Job 15:31).
Among others the following citations will be read from the Bible "The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure there-in. His work honourable and glorious: and his righteousness erdureth for
ever.
The works of his hands are verity and judgement; all his command- ments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness" (Ps. 111: 2, 3, 7,
8).
The following citations will also be read from the Christian Science Textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy. The fading, forms of malter, the mortal body and material earth, are the feeling concepts of the human mind. They have their day before the permanent facts and their perfection in Spirit appear. The
crude creations. of mortal thought must finally give place to the glorious
forms which we sometimes behalt in
the camern of divine Mind, when the mental
picturo 扭 spiritual and
eternal. Mortals must look beyond fading fuite forms, if they would gain the true sense of things. When we realize that Life Is Spirit, never in mor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness. (pages 263,- 254),
