Investigation by the Telegraph has revealed that no such person resides there.

The boxes were addressed to Hok Ling-hing, Manila, but investigation in Manila revealed that there is no Chinese mer- chant there by that name.

The opium was seized after the arrival from Hongkong last week of the J.C.J.I. liner, Tjisadane. The presence of the contraband was dis- covered by customs men when they proded the cases with picks and found
