HONGKONG RACING SEASON RESUMES TO-MORROW
PONIES MAY NOT RUN IN THEIR BEST FORM YET INTERESTING PROGRAMME ARRANGED BY STEWARDS
(By "Captain Foster")
All lovers of horse-flesh will no doubt be turning up to-morrow at Happy Valley to see the opening of the second half of the Hong- kong racing under the auspices of the Hongkong Jockey Club. Racing fans, I am sure, have patiently been waiting for the re- sumption of these popular extra meetings, but it is obviously not to be expected that all the Australian and China ponies will be run- ning true to their best form after a suspension of nearly three and a half months.
First raddling bell will be ring að 1.30 pan., and the first race will he run ut 2 n'clock. There are nine attractive events on the card with several sprints from six furlongs and under. The sub-erack, Louja XIV, has not been entered for the main contest,

China ponies have changed ownership and it is to be hoped that they will bring good luck | to the new owners.

Tsui Brothers Eliminate Fincher, Remedios
A. V. Remedios (left) and E C. Fineker (right) were not consistent enough to trouble the Trul brothers duly when the two combinations met in the semi-finals of the U.S.R.C. hardcourt doubles tennis champlonalitp yesterday. While Fincher was steady, Remedios was inclined to be wreak though he scored many winners with a fierce forehand drive.--Staff Photograplier.

IN SEMI-FINALS OF HARDCOURT TOURNEY Two Opening Sets Annexed For Loss Of Three Games
(By "Abo"},
In their match against E. C. Fincher and A. V. Remedios in the acmi-finals of the United Services R. C. hardcourt doubles tennis championship yesterday, the Tsui brothers found their task minde considerably lighter by the weakness of the oppposition in the first two sets, which they won with the loss of only three games. And though they had to fight hard for their points later on, the two-set lead which they had already established gave them an advantage which must have proved as comforting to them as it was dishearten- ing to Fincher and Remedios.
Without having to give of their best, the Chinese pair quickly claim- ed the Wo opening sets. Ther Fincher and Remedios made a long- delayed recovery, taking the third sat after ten games, but they lust the fourth, and with it the match, by the same score. The Tauis won by 6-2. G-1, 4-6, 6-4.

There was none of that cross- court wind which had bothered so many contestants in the course of the present tournament; yet good play was seen only at rare intervals. it could never be a great match with Fincher and Remedios adhering t stubbornly to the same lacties in the first two sels when the deadlines of the brothers' volleying should have indiented to them that the drive

Playing from the ninth head with 18 a lead of 8-6 over his opponent, Bradbury was very confident throughout the course of the game. While he was very seldom brilliant, he was extremely stendy; and it was this steadiness, coupled with the shaky play of his opponent, which eventually gave bim á fully-deserved victory.
Though he preferred the long heads on the whole-he lost the Jack twice during the

INCREASES LEAD
Bradbury increased his lead to 14-0 in the first few heads played yesterday, as the result of a single, a three and two more singles In that order. Dallah recovered somewhat with two singles, and after conceding Bradbury a single on the 15th head, he scored again with a brace and a one to reduce Bradbury's lead to 15-11.

Except for glimpses of brilliance, the match was not played at a con- sistently high level. Simultaneous rilliance was lacking.
