Shangcheng, July 20. Indicative of the intensity of fight- ing in the Taihu sector in south-west Anbwel, about 2,000 casunities were suffered by the Japanese on July 20 and 27. Casualties on the Chinese side were heavy too as they gallantly defended their positions under con-
