The Lawn Bowls Association met yesterday, to draw for the semi-finala of the pair championship and the frat round of the singles. The pairs semi-finals will be decided on Wed- nesday at the Civil Service at 4.30 p.m. Twenty competitors received byes in the open singles.

Half-Day Spin During Bank Holiday

The Hongkong Cycling Club com- mences the 1938-1939 season with an Informal half-day spin on August Bank Holiday (Monday, August 1), leaving the Alhambra Cinema, Kow- loon, nt 1.30 p.m. Similar runs will be carried out on subsequent Wednes- day and Sunday afternoons, leaving the above rendezvous at the time stated. These runs will be of from three to four hours duration, and it is suggested that bathing kit should be carried. Non-members tended a hearty welcome.

The Club's activities were brought almost to a standstil early in the summer due to the temporary ab sence of the Hon. Secretary, Illness and accidents to other leading om- cinis.
