No fewer than 570 Japanese war planes have been destroyed by the Chinese air force and anti-aircraft batteries during one year of hostilities, declared Colonel Mao Pang-chu, Chief of Aerial Operations in the Chinese Air Force to-day.
Colonel Mao added: “A total of 243 Japanese aircraft have actually been shot down in combat in the air and 138 have been destroyed on the ground by
bombing operations. Chinese anti-aircraft batteries have shot down 163. The remaining 26 shot down have not been located.
