Dancer Attacked After Refusing Kiss

Thirty-two-years-old Raymond Chinppolini, a naturalised French- man, found Guilty in a Paris court of assaulting and robbing Mrs. Joan Keppel, an English dancer, in a Parts street, spoke these words in his de- fence to-day.
He was sentenced to 13 months' imprisonment and ten years' banish- ment. It was stated that he had been sentenced five times for theft and attempted murder.
After Mrs. Keppel-whose husband la maid to be a member of a well- known British naval family-had told the court that Chiappolin! had snatched her handbag, kicked her, and

“I did nothing of the kind. We simply struggled because you refused to kiss me. After all, we had been talking together for two hours.
