ADMIRAL LITTLE GOING TO IMPORTANT POST

The King has approved the appointment of Admiral Sir Charles Little to be a Lord Commissioner of the Admiralty and Chief of Naval Personnel in succession to Admiral Sir Martin Dunbar-Nasmith, v.c., to date September 30. Sir Charles Little is to be appointed to H.M.S. President, additional, for duty inside Admiralty to date September 2.

Admiral Sir Charles Little brated his 56th birthday earlier this month. He returned recently from the post of Commander-in-Chief in China, where he Wita born (nt Shanghal) and where he served his Best commission as midshipman of the Hermione from 1888 to 1901, He gained early promotion to leutenant by taking all "Arsta" in his examina- tions, specialised in submarines, and was promoted to commander at the we of 30. During the War he com- manded the Dover Patrol and Grand Fleet submarine flotas, and in 1918 WAA in command of the cruiser Cleopatra In the Baltic. lin Ins bern Director of the R.N.
