Don Bradman, captain and "Bradles" to his team-mates, declared his was the happiest team ever to visit England.

"I'll tell you in two months time whether we are good," he added.

Here you see how they arrived with the Don's famous smile much in evidence.

The welcome both at South- "ampton and at Waterloo was un- precedented. It Blabbergasted some of the younger members of the side making their first visit to England.

This team is going to be popular. Having spent the last five days with them I am convinced they are the nicest bunch of cricketers we have ever welcomed.

There are sixteen players. A manager and "Fergie."

the baggage man and scorer. Eight of the players have been here before, but only three came in the 1930 side. About half the team are married.

They brought plenty of

luggage but no cricket bats.
