Matrimonial agencies have been frequently mentioned in the courts of late. Recently I set out to discover how these agencies work, what kind of clients they have and what their charges
are.
The two principal agencies run monthly papers, each of which contains hundreds of advertisements giving personal and financial details of men and women anxious to marry. In both cases, advertisers must first become clients of the agency before their notices are accepted and introductions are effected by the editor.
