Replying to the official welcome. the manager of the team, Mr. Jeanes, sold that when they left he hoped everyone would any they had played attractive cricket.

There has been a good deal of leg pulling. Several photographers shou- ted that they could not see Den Bradman. The Australians replied: "We didn't bring him." Bradman eventually emerged, looking the nt- fest member of the team.

The team will probably practise at Lord's this afternoon.--Reuter.

Must Field Best Side

London, Apr. 20. At the Lancashire County Cricket Club annual luncheon, the Chairman, Mr. T. Higson, after suggesting that England would probably beat the Australians if the wickets were not cast iron, said that he hoped they would not put an inferior team in the field against Lancashire which would have a detrimental affect on Cricket and the

gate. If the Australians wanted money, they would have to field their best side. He said that those who remembered what happen- last time they met Lan- cashire knew what he was referring 10.-Reuter,

UNDERGRADS DEFEATED BY VISITING XI

(By "The Pilgrim").

Only a handful of spectators were present at the Police Training School yesterday afternoon to see the Mocao Lyceum hockey team defeat the Hongkong University by four gals to all. Those who were there had no reason to regret it, for they were treated to some entertaining hockey.

Brilliant leadership by G. Silva was the feature of the Macao schoolboys" attack. He scored all the four goals to pave the way for a well-earned alde. He noted victory for his twice in each half.

Outplayed in the first period, the undergraduates showed a vast im- provement after the interval and con- tinually kept the visitors on the de- fensive, but their frent line $15 a whole lacked driving power and

snap.

Taking up the attack, Macao scored two more times through G, Silva be- fore the Anal whistle, A. Silva, at right wing. A. Borges at inside right and J. Saat Inside left, were pro- nilment and gave G. Silva splendid support.

The recent matches played here by the Macao teams speak well for the standard of the game in the Portu- guese colony. Except for a drawn match by the Interport team against the Civlians, the visitors have made a clean sweep. The schoolboys show great promise; can choose at least half n up wins.
