PEACE RUMOUR ABROAD
But Japan's Loss At Taierchwang May Be Obstacle
Shanghai, Apr. D. It was disclosed here that Mr. Masayuki Tani, Japanese Minister- al-Large, was active recently in seeing British and. French diplomatic representatives with the object of reaching compromise with China,
Chinese reports stated that this move was due to Japanese defeat at. Taierchwang, but reliable quarters pointed out this morning thất Mr. Fani saw, the British and French Ambassadora several times before they departed for the south.
Concerning the meeting between Mr. Tani and Sir Archibald Clark Kerr, the British Ambassador, a local news agency reported the Japanese to have said: "I advise him (Sir Archibald) to visit Szechuan to sen the beautiful spring flowers up the Yangtae. He will come back here to tell me what
sces in the interior, of flowers he
This is interpreted, in journalistic circles hero, to mean that Mr. Tani is anxious to know what reception he would get for plans alleged to have been imparted to the British Ambassador. The defeat of Japan- ese troops in south Shantung may have the effect of upsetting Mr. Tani's high hopes, it is learned.- International.

At times the sound may be heard as much as four inches away, Doctors are puzzled by the sound, which sometimes keeps the boy frora sleeping. He and his parents are ready to do anything within reason to cure it.
