Extraordinary precautions have been taken by both Chinese and Japanese authorities ensure the safety of the British Ambassador, Sir Archibald Korr Clark Kerr on his trip to Chungking, where he will present his credentials to the Chinese Government on Monday next.

The completo itinerary of the Ambassador's trip, from the time he boards H.M.S. Tarantula at 11 o'clock this morning for Canton, until his arrival in Chungking by special plane, has been notified to the Japanese Government.

The Japanese Government in turn, has notified its naval and air forces operating in South China of the Ambassador's itinerary,

The British Ambassador to China, Sir Archibald Kerr Clark Kerr, urrived in Hongkong this morning from Shanghal aboard the P. and 0. [liner Naldoru. Sir Archibald, "ac- edmpanied by Ludy Clark Kerr and his staff, will sull at 11.30 for Canton on the river gunboat H.M.S. Tarun- tula.
