Duty Commissioner Collector of Stamp Revenue.

Mr. Burgess has been attached to the Hongkong Civil Service since 1932, arriving here on November 17 of that year as a Cadet.

He was attached to the Secretariat for Chinese Affairs in 1935, being ap pointed Assistant to the S.C.A. on March 2. In October of the same year he was appointed Second Assist- ant Superintendent of Imports and Exports, and was transferred to the Magistracy on April 30, 1936, Mr. Burgess became Assistant Super- Latendent of Imports and Experts ive months later.
