The Hongkong steamer Asian, seized by the Japanese and taken to Bako, in the Pescadores, has been released ck as a result of strong protests by the British Government. The Asian will arrive in Hongkong to-morrow morning, after being detained for over a week.

Traffic Toll

It is learned from the police that seventeen traffic accidents, mainly of a minor character, occurred in Hong- kong and Kowloon during the week- end. Many of the mishaps were due to alight collisions with vehicles and other objects, but no persons received any serious injury.
