A special foreign-language broadcasting station, with two new high-power transmitters, is to be built by the B.B.C. at Daventry.

A full-time programme service will then be possible to Asia and South America as well as to Europe.

The new transmitters will add mil- lions of listeners outside the British Empire to those already Served by the six Empire short-wave transmitters.

Contracts for the new transmitiera have already been placed, and work on the shell of the now Forelan Language Station has begun close to the present Daventry station.
