No further information is at pre- sent obtainable this morning regard ing the re-opening of the Pearl River barrier, but the situation in Canton is now quiet, with the exception of repented air raids alumu, another of which counded this morning, though since then the all-clear nig- nol has been given.

Shanghai, Feb, 10. The Japanese naval spokesman fo- day said that yesterday's air nelivity in the Shanghai sector, which in cludes the entire Yanglae Valley as far as Szechucn, as well as territory many miles to the north and south, was among the most intensive of the entire war. Six units, each of over ten planes, widely bombed Chinese air bases, including the aerodrome of Changsha, Anking. Nanyang in Hanau and Klenow and Pucheng in Fukien.
A large unit raided Slangyang in Hupch and destroyed the hangar and two of three grounded planes. The Japanese claim to have shot down five of the 15 defenders. Four of these were Russian machines. "We found they made very good targets," the spokesman srd, as they were very slow.-United Press.
