SIR CHARLES TURNER

London, Jan. 19, The death has occurred of Sir Charles Akis Turner, Chief Secre→ tary of the Government of Bombay, at the age 60 years.

The late Sir Charles Turner had been a member of the Indian Civil Service since 1903-Reuter.

Born in 1870 the son of the Rev. S. W. Turner, the late Sir Charles passed the Civil Service Examination in 1902 and was posted ag Assistant Collector, Bombay Presidency. 1903. He was Under-Secretary the Government of Bombay from 1012 to 1915 and personal Assistant to the Chairman of the Royal Com→ mission on the Superlor Services in India In 1923 and 1924. From 1024 to 1920

The funeral of the late Mr. Primo Jose Marin Rodrigues took place yesterday at the Roman Catholie Cemetery, when the Rev. Fr. J. M. Spada, assisted by the lev. Fr. N. Brook, amelated at the lost rites.

The late Mr. Rodrigues died at his residence, No. 1 St. Joseph's Terrace, on Wednesday. He was formerly where employed in the Treasury,
