CHRISTMAS

COOKING

LTHOUGH Christmus is only a week ahead, it is by no means too late to start mak- ing preparations for the

festive fire.

Several readers liave written ask- ing for recipes for puddings, cakes and mincement, so that there isn't a last-minute rush.

Also, na we all know, Christmas kenna extra oxpopar. The wise home- maker will, therefore, plan to upy something every week out of the weekly housekering allowance, ae that the burden doesn't cone all at once to take the pleasure out of the party.

First, we must count.up the pudding basins, and see that there are suffi- clent pudding cloths, with estr ones to lle over the puddings after they have been boiled For the wet pudding cloth should be removed after cooking, and a clean one placed over the top. When led on, the cloth is turned back over the puddling, nad Hed to furan » useful handle, by which the pudding Is Lifted out of the maurepas.

Steamers are well worth' buyher. especially for Christmas cooking, w zoveral puddings can be cooked at, the same time.

Next you'll werd a good supply of grenseproof paper. Take my tip and
