AE day the words are different, yel you Scots and wo English eat the same things, and use the gam things, I pay my rent to the fac tor realmany; still don't quite know what "ground to feu" menang jand still keep saying "Lord Mayor and Aldermen" instead of "Lord Provost and Bailles," If I go into a cafe I have to ask for # "plain tea," "To breath" means "scones"; ! a close stands for an "entry"; fore- noon signifies "morning": ashet is - nothing else but a plain, flat mest lish; "second last" is Scottish for "last but one": "brae" means hill, and "burn" is a brook. Prople laugh at me when I try to say "loch." What am I to do?

Better make the best of it. It's half-past five. I'll stop at the first bar (pub) and treat myself 15 a small whisky and a glass of beer,

So sorry! I mean "a nip and a half pint."
