WILL CLUB BE ABLE TO UPSET SOUTH CHINA ONCE AGAIN?

(By "Abo")

Chiefly because of the Volunteer Camp, there will be in the First only a curtailed programme of matches Division of the Hongkong Football League, during the week-end. Only three games have been arranged, two to be played this afternoon and one to-morrow.

Of the four leading teams, only the Seaforth Highlanders will bo engaged; South China "9", Middle- bex and Kowloon all have an idle week-end.

Judging by past performances, the Seaforths strault take the points from St. Joseph's at Sonkunnon this afternoon; but I advise them no! to take things too lightly as the Saints have a habit of being at their best when

Icnst expected. Several changes have also been made in the Saints toan, and it would not be entirely untrue to say that they themselves do not know what they are liable to do! For to-dny's en- counter, they will have the help of E. Turner,

· Amalgamation May Solve Problem

(By "Veritas")

THERE is a curious anomaly about women's badminton in Hongkong which seems to call for some explanation. While it is perfectly true, as my colleague "Spectator" observed this morning, that comparatively more women play the game here than men, yet last season it was found impossible to continue the ladies' doubles league, and the same position is indicated this winter. That strikes one as pccullar when it is realised that some 50 members of the gentler sex play the game at Club de Recreio, and that most of the other clubs. in Hongkong possess women players.
