ABSCONDING FOKI CAUGHT

LOST MONEY QUICKLY AT FAN TAN TABLE

Pang Ying-sheung, 31, shop foki, appeared before Mr. R. Edwards at the Central Magistracy this morning charged with having fraudulently converted the sum of $1,300 given hun to deliver, to his own use.

It was stated that on November 1, Pang Sing-pong, of Yuen On- cheunt iron dealers, gave $1,300 10 the defendant to deliver to Ng Ting money

Wong changers at Wing Street. Pang inter phonel Ng Ting to confirm the delivery, but was told they had not received the money or seen the defendant.

On Novmber 5, a warrant wea Issued for his arrest. Two days inter the complainant had information that the defendant was on board the F.A. Sui Tal, and on this he proceed. l t the steamer nnd asked Chinese constable who was on duty nt the wharf to make a search for hin. They found the defendant in No. 18 second class cabin with a

When searched the defendant had $205 on him and $105 was in the woman's possession, she said the de- fendant gave it to her. It was re- vealed that the defendant had de- posited $500 at a Yim Ip bank. In Nathan Road, this sum was with- drawn by the police. The total sum recovered was $805.

The defendant said that he was n relative of the complainant and had only $4 as monthly wages and admited he himself was a gambler. He lost $495 in fantan in Macao.

He was sentenced to two months' Imprisonment.

Mr. John Poon, of 68 Hennessy Rood, was summoned on three counts for failing to maintain his car in a good condition, driving with in- riicient brakes, and driving without fuc care and caution in Queen's itond West at 0.20 am. on November 1. Mr. F. 1. Zimmern, of Zimmern and Co., appeared for defendant and pleaded not guilty to all charges. The hearing was adjourned until 2.45 p.m. on November 26.

The foki went with him and there they met the second delen- dant. The fokl left the goods at No. 49 and went to Ko Shing Street with the second defendant to collect the 6229.50, the sum to cover the cost of the goods.

When they arrived at Ko Shlog Street,

the second defendant oskeu the foki to return to No. 40, and there ho found the first defendant and the goods gone.

The first defendant on October 10 went to a shop next to LI Sing shop, And there he WH arrested. The second defendant was arrested the Tollowing day by Detective-Sergeant, T. Cashman,
