Ten Cents To England Instead Of 70 Cents

Next Year

Big changes in airmail services between Hongkong and England, and between Hongkong and Australia, will be brought Into force by June next year.

With the adoption by the Aus-j tralian Government of an agreement with the British Government for the carrtage of all first cluss mult by! ale, the last barrier to the scheme. in which Hongkong will participate, has been removed.

By the middle of next year, all] first class mail will be carried by air at rates only slightly higher than those at present charged for carriage: by me.

Instead of the present Hongkong Fate 50 cents per half ounce to England and 70 cents per ounce to Australia, the rate will be 10 cents per half ounce to each country, its compared with 10 cents per ounce by steamer.
