ALLEGED USE OF GAS SHELLS BY CHINESE

Foreign press correspondents were recently taken to the Japanese Consulate-General In Shanghel where they were shown a gas shell said to have been esplured at Clinese positions by a Japanese unit advancing from Tapingilang. At left a Japanese gas-masked soldier' is seen opening a shell, while at right a snidler exhibits two shells-a pas shell on the left and an ordinary shell on the right.

· CHAPEL AS BOMBS FELL FROM SKY

Fire following bomba added to the desolation of Chapel when Japanese raiders went into heavy action one day last week. Behind the Rallway Administration Buliding in the top pleture may be seen the explosion of tiren bombs dropped together from planes flying in group formation, while below is a pic- fure taken from across the Creek, a huge drifting column of smoke marking an outbreak of fire,
