Our staff photographer caught these interesting camera studios at the Central British School this week, where a number of Shanghai refugees are quartered. Above is a quartette of cheerful boys sot- ting out for a walk.. Top right "Mother's Little Help" assists in hanging out the laundary, Below shows how the school gymnasium has been converted into sleeping quarters, with a kiddy taking his afternoon nap, oblivious to the camera. Bottom right a refugee, ossiated by a Chinese anal, sorts out the clothes which seed washing,

The Rev. 1. D. Spink, Chaplain of St. Andrew's Church, Kowloun, was killed in action on the Western Front.

The rate of the dollar on demand was 29. 1.7/16d.

The death occurred of Lieut.- Coindr. A. E. Davey, Boarding Oficer at the Harbour Department, and formerly with Messrs. Butter- field and Swire.

Mr. T. Dallło was appointed to act as Auditor, and Mr. A. F. Churchill as Director of Public Works.

Mr. Chu Hing-lon assumed his post as Civil Governor in Conton.
