Scenes at the Kowloon wharf on Sunday when the Royal Welch Fusiliers left to take up duty in Shanghai. Wives and families, together with Headquarter Staff officers gathered at the quayside to bid the Fusiliers farewell. The two top pictures show the troops embarking. In centre is the General Officer Commanding, Major-General A. W. Bartholomew, C.B., and Brigadier H. G. Seth Smith, D.S.O., caught by th camera as they watched the embarkation of the troops from the ship. Bottom left is a human interest study, showing the wife of one of the soldiers holding her husband's rifle and bayonet, while other wives and kiddies eagerly watch the embarkation.
