A force of 3,000 Japanese troops entered Pelping to-day, commanded by Major-General Kawabe, who re- viewed his troops in the main street of the Legation quarter and after- wards Issued 41 proclamation threatening disturbers of the peace with severe penulties.
Japanese police dismantled the Chinese Government's radio station later.
It is estimated there are 45,000 Japanese troops in North China present-Reuter.

In consequence of representations made by intending competitors, it has been decided to extend the closing date of the "Hongkong Telograph” Amatour Photographic Competition to September 30, 1937.
