AIR SOLO AT 12 – Edward Somers, 12, con of Representative Andrew L. Bomers of Brooklyn, N. Y., one of the youngest pilots ever to fly a plane alone. He went up 3,000 feet, flew for 15 min- utes over Long Island and made a perfect three-point landing. He now has a student pilot's license. His father was a World War fler. Edward is shown at Floyd Bennett Field.
