R. ERNEST ALDRICH SIMPSON, six-foot former husband of the Duchess of Windsor, who divorced him in October, denied three times in the Lord Chief Justice's Court yesterday that he had been paid, or given any considertaion, not to defend his wife's petition.

His deep voice boomed, round the court as he said "Most certainly not" to his counsel, Mr. H. J. Walling- ton, K.C., who put the ques- tion to him.
