How Britain Crowned Ancient Kings

PROCESSION OF EDWARD VI-This reproduction of an ancient engraving shows the procession of Edward VI, who acceded to Britain's throne in 1547, pasting through Cheapside from the Tower to his coronation. The King, on a white horse, at the left of the monument, is under a canopy carried by four bare-headed riders. One of the two dark-robed figures in centre is probably the Arch- bishop of Canterbury. Craftsmen in their liveries line the windows.

NOBILITY AT THE HUNT—The Duke of Norfolk, stage manager for the coronation, and his bride, the former Hon. Lavinia Strutt, so they appeared recently at the Holderness and Middleton East hunt at Burton Agnes Hall, York, England.

BACK IN 1307-This ancient manuscript at Corpus Christi Col- lege, Cambridge, depicts the coronation of, probably, Edward II. In 1307. The King is seated in St. Edward's chair and holds St. Edward's staff in one hand and the orb in the other. Ho wears a jewelled crown of neurons.
