HOLY CARPET GOES TO MECCA-For the first time in ten years the Mohammedan holy carpet leaves Cairo, Egypt, for Mecca. Formerly the carpet, a series of rich brocades for coverings in the Mecca mosque, made the journey every year. In 1928 a clash occurred between its Egyptian army escort and the Wababis, an Arabian sect. Now peace is restored and the carpet journeys again.
