Portraits In Studio
RINCESS ELIZABETH and Princess Margaret Rose recently spent three afternoons in the studio of Miss Margaret Lindsay Williams in Hamilton-terrace, St. John's Wood, while she has been painting their portrait,
Miss Lindsay Williams has enjoyed the company of the young royal visitors. She said:-
"They are charming children, childlike, natural, completely without affectation. They both have a very keen. sense of humour. They talked away all the time. They sang nursery rhymes. They both have sweetly musical voices. They chapped hands to 'Pease-pudding hot, pease-pudding cold,'
"A favourable pastime was telling stories. Princess. Elizabeth would start a story, making it up as she went along. Then Mrs. Knight, their nurse Princess Maagaret would carry it on. who came with them, would add some more, and so on.
"Princess Margaret is very full
of life. Once Mrs. Knight sold, 'Really. Margaret, you must keep still or how can Miss Williams paint
09 your mouth," she rearranged Princess Margaret on her stool.
"The Princess leaned forward suddenly and kissed her nurse on the check and said, 'I am Korry."

Miss Williams showed me the two cblidish signatures in her visitors' book. The writing of both children is exceptionally good, every letter well formed. She had drawn a line to guide Princess Margaret, whose wrling had clung to it faithfully.

Egypt's King For Coronation
HOLD HIS OWN NEXT YEAR
London, Apr. 6. Seventeen-year-old King Farouk of Egypt is coming to London to get a few tips on this coronation business from the crowning of King George VI, May 12.
Farouk left Egypt February 27 on a long vacation, which will take in the British corona- tion ceremonies, and land him back in Cairo about the end of June for his own ascension of | the throne on coming of age.
Faroule will take no official part in King George's coronation ceremonies, but he will be able to sympathize with George on the tedious and in- triente formalities, since his throning will be the simple cere- mony of taking the oath before par- linment.

SHOULD BE CROWNED There are no plans for a corona- tion, In Egypt, although some news- papers have been suggesting the introduction of a crown, arguing that now that Egypt is completely inde- pendent, and the British and Turkish yokes thrown off, Farouk should be crowned properly,
Accompanying Farouk on his holl-

are his mother, Queen Nazli, and his four sisters, the Princesses Fewzie, aged 15, Falzn, aged 10, Falkah, aged ten, and Fathla, aged 6. They plan to go to Switzerland for the winter sports before coming to London via Paris.
RESIDE IN SURREY "
When Farouk arrives hero he plans to take up residence in Kendry House, Kingston, Surrey, where he stayed last winter before rushing back to Cairo on the sudden death of his father, King Fuad, April 28. The Queen and the princesses, who are making their first visit to Eng- land, will occupy a house near by.
