RUSSIAN CONCERT
CARNIVAL ARRANGED FOR ST. ANDREW'S HALL
A variety concert and dance will be held in St. Andrew's Hall, on Friday, which is a Russian "Mass- lenitza," or Carnival and efforts are being made to create an almosphere of concert
and dances true to the Russian customs of this Festival.
The programme Includes a Russian chorus singing "Slava Massienitza," "Troia" Dance
the and
Eight Girls" chorus.
All Russian ladies are invited to wear Russian national costumes. The stage will represent a Russian hut and during the intervals of the concert programme there will be dancing.

The variety programme has been arranged by Mrs. E. F. Shapiro, who is very experienced in the arrange. ment of concerts and dances, and her, experience and the
presence of Mrs. A. A. Goldina and others, ensures a successful evening.
Tickets can be obtained at the entrance at $1. Proceeds" will bộ used for the benefit of cultural and charitable purposes of the Russian Orthodox Community Fund. The concert will begin at 9 p.m.
PRISONER'S - DEATH
FOUND TO BE DUE TO NATURAL CAUSES
An inquiry into the death of a prisoner in Victoria Gaol, Li You, who died on Friday, was held at the Central Magistracy yesterday, with Mr. K. Keen sitting as Coroner, and assisted by a jury comprising Mear. Tam Sik-yam,_(foreman). J.S. Dunnett, and La Tal-you.
Mr. H. Barrett, chlef warder at Victorin Gaol, said Li was admitted to the Gaol on February 28 to undergo a sentence of a month's imprisonment with hard labour. While on, cease- labour parado' on March 5 about 3.50 p.m. he fainted and was carried to hospital, where he died at 3.55 p.m. Dr. G. 1. Shaw sald he examined Li on his admittance to prison. condition was then put fair.. Li, a chronic oplum
addict, died on March 5. A post-mortem was car ried out on Saturday, when the cause of death was found to be a ruptured oncurism of the main vessel of the heart
