New York, Mar. 1. S. C. & F. Dow Jones Summary of yesterday's markel: The market in general recovered from an early Ir- regularity, fed by United States Steel, which soared above four points on a now six-year high basis of opera- tions, which were the best since June 1025. Other steels were strong. The leaders in most of the 1st were frae- tionally higher. Metais. were firm. Mercantiles were higher. Rulls gen- erally gained. Utilities were depress- ed early in the day and reached saveral new low, levels, but they later recovered somewhat. Rubber shares were higher. The Bonds Market was irregular, while the Curb Exchange was higher.

Morning Comment:-Bond financing this quarter will be below that of the corresponding quarter of last year. The fertilizer outlook is better than It has been since 1930, with prices Arm- er. A leading house, which has been bulish recently has now turned dul- ish. Some iraders are predicting that the 1030 rail averages will be exceeded before the end of March. There has been some switching of autorollve shares into steels and ruils. Brokers say that there has been large foreign buying rails, particularly Atchison and Southern Paelle.
