"Easy to Take" Marsha Hunt and John Howard share
top honours in the leading roles at Paramount's breezy comedy-romonce, "Easy to Take,"
in
which opens at the Alhambra Theatre to-day. The film is a con- sistently amusing story of life "be hind the scones" in a major radio broadcasting studio. "Easy to Take" dful blend of fun und romance, plot and suspense, paced for entertainment by Director Glenn Tryon. Howard and Mes Hunt are alded by a group of unusually copa- ble actors, including Eugene Pallette, a veteran who appears is manager of a radio hour; Richard Caile, Douglas Scott and Jan Duzzan. The youthful Scott succeeds admirably In portraying an annoyingly polled Aen-your-old. Novelty enterkin- ment sequences are skillfully woven into the story, as one program after Another goes on the air in the studio which ds the picture's background. Real radio performers have been, enlisted-some new to movies.

Teaming of the world-wide popu«. Joan Crawford with Robert Taylor, most sensational "find" the history of movies in the new Early American romance "The Gor- cous Hussy" showing at ho Oriental Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday is considered Hollywood'a mastorstrake of casting for the year. Miss Crawford in the title role, plays that gorgeous husry, Pegg O'Neal, daughter of a Washington innkeeper -in-the-Jacksonian period of Ameri--

First Lady of Democracy. Taylor, as
as "Bow Timberlake, offfeer on the S. S. Consitution, is the man who sweeps her off her feet and into a marriage which proves a gripping -test of Peggy O'Nude charester and

"I Married A Doctor" Once in generation a book is written that directly effects the thinking habits, and even the lives, of a nation. Sinclair Lewis, the American ever to win the coveled Nobel Prize for literature, wrote the best selling novel of mar- ried love which was adapted into the ramarkable motion picturo drama "I Married a Doctor" which with Pat O'Brien and Josephine Hutchinson in The Leading roles 过 now at the Star Theatre. The
novel struck telling blows at pro- vincialism of thought and life, at scandal mangering and life at scandal mongering, and at warped and narrow. vision. Pat O'Brien, usually seen in a fast talking, wise- cracking role, le cast in a vastly different characterisation in this filmi, that of so slow speaking, good humoured country doctor; äzil- hd shows this dine ability as an eidler by creating for the character a genuino
and sympathy
understanding. Josephine Hutchinson, who plays opposite him, has a must difficult role as the young wife who is ut- terly impatient with the narrow Nves anti peity gossip of her nelsh- bours. She gives the part a fine. interpretation, and, displays "equat. artistry in portraying tense tional scenes and in the lighter mo monts. There is a strong cost in support.
