IS WON

At the Happy Valley last Saturday a brilliant game was seen when the Y.MO.A. were victorious over the Hongkong Ladles Hockey Club odd in three.

Miss Marie Smith gave her side the lead in the first half when she scored with a nice flick shot which absolutely deceived Mrs. Lunson in goal. A minute after the interval Miss Smith again found the net with a terrific drive giving Mrs. Lunson no chance whatever. Miss C. Fergu son with a bit of brilliant in- dividualism scored Hongkong's lone goal.

The game started at neck pace and one could clearly see the Peninsular ladies' defence was on top form. Mrs. Donald made the first dangerous movement when she unexpectedly broke through the "." defence but in attempting to score drove the ball straight at Mrs. Stephens who cleared well.

A spell of lively exchanges were shared by both teams in turn and though the Hongkong team seemed more aggressive to begin with, Mrs. Burke at right-back for the y showed splendid anticipation when time and again she intercepted and astrous attacks. stopped what might have been dis-
