Wyatt Out For Three; AMBIGUITY”

Leyland Also Fails

England suffered the loss of two valuable, wickets for only 21 runs before lunch in the fourth Test match against Australia, which was resumed this morning at Adelaide.

Leyland had only added ten runs to his score when, he was caught by Chipperfield off Fleetwood-Smith, whilst Wyatt, playing his first game of the series, was out for a mere 3; being caught off O'Reilly by Fingleton, However, Barnett succeeded in passing his century, and with Ames the score was taken to 253 for 4 at the lunch interval, England being thus only 35 behind Australia's first innings score, with six wickets in hand. At the interval Barnett was, 124 not out and. Ames still batting with 30 to his credit.

London, Feb. 1. Fear was spreading through Eur- ope to-day that Herr Adolf Hitler's Reichsing speech has slammed the door on statesmen's efforts to secure a lasting peace fabric.

British officials call the speech vague and negative. It is believed Mr. Anthony Eden, the Foreign Secretary, called the attention of the Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Bald- win, to the fact that Herr Hitler did not even mention a new Locarno:
