Benny Lynch of England to-night became the fly- weight boxing champion of the world, when, at the Wembley Stadium, he defeated Small Montana, holder of the world title, and formerly of the Philippines, on a points decision over 15 rounds.

The first two rounds were very even, with Lynch slightly superior in the first stanza, scoring withe rights to the by. However Manions replied with a damaging right book in the second round.
