Large attendances were noticeable at all the principal sporting fixtures this afternoon.

The largest attendance this season was witnessed at howloon, where the Kumaon Rifles, who recently arrived in the Colony, made their debut in local football against the Kowloon Chinese in a Junior Shield event. Despite predictions, the Kumaons proved a disappointing combination, and were 'prac- tlenlly toyed with by the Chinese, who seemed to score whenever they thought fit.
