WITH the selection of
Tokyo as the site of the 1940 Olympic games, all American, Japanese, Cana- dian and British steamship lines on the Pacific. have launched tentative plans for a large increase in and modernisation of their Paci- fic fleets in order to meet the vastly increased travel de mands which are expected at that time.
Not only will the number of boats in the trans-Pacific service be increns, but they will be of a greater speed, a greater tonnage and up to the latest standards of | modernization in ocean travel.
